Low AMH?

In most cases, it can be explained.

Are you under 40 with Low AMH and being frightened into jumping straing into IVF?

If you are under 40 with low AMH and have been told that you need IVF 'because low AMH means your eggs are running out', or been told that you 'need to use donor eggs because low AMH means your egg quality is poor' - we need to talk. Those opinions are not backed up by research. Multiple research studies show that you cannot predict time to conception, or egg quality, based on AMH in women under the age of 40. IVF is not an easy or obvious choice for women with Low AMH as there are likely to only be a small number of follicles available on any particular month. The majority of our clients under 40 with Low AMH go on to achieve natural pregnancy (even after being told by an IVF clinic that they need urgent IVF).

When AMH is low, we need to be vigilant for signs of inflammation, infection, nutrient deficiencies and structural issues that may compromise the ovarian environment. We also need to pay particular attention to sperm health as some women struggling to conceive with low AMH are producing healthy eggs, but are not conceiving because sperm is sub-par.

For years I have been speaking and writing about the impact of low AMH and how to approach a case where low AMH appears to be a defining feature. If you want to understand more about this topic, grab my Ebook:
